Hi, i’m Trevor Weston

Trevor J. Weston is the founder and principal attorney of Weston Law, PLLC, where he focuses his practice on estate planning, probate and trust administration, and trust and estate litigation. For nearly two decades, Trevor has helped individuals, families, fiduciaries, and business owners navigate some of life’s most important legal decisions—from creating comprehensive estate plans to guiding families through probate administration and resolving complex trust and estate disputes.

Trevor understands that estate planning is about much more than legal documents. It is about protecting the people and values that matter most. He works closely with clients to develop personalized plans that preserve assets, minimize conflict, and provide peace of mind for future generations. Whether preparing a simple will, sophisticated trust-based estate plan, or business succession strategy, Trevor is committed to providing practical advice tailored to each client’s unique goals.

When a loved one passes away, families often face unfamiliar legal procedures while dealing with grief. Trevor regularly represents personal representatives, trustees, beneficiaries, and heirs through every stage of probate and trust administration. He strives to make the process as efficient and understandable as possible while ensuring fiduciaries fulfill their legal responsibilities with confidence.

Not every estate matter proceeds smoothly. Trevor has built a reputation for successfully handling contested probate and trust matters involving will contests, trust disputes, fiduciary misconduct, contested accountings, and other complex estate litigation. His extensive litigation background allows him to protect his clients’ interests both inside and outside the courtroom. He has also been appointed by the Oakland County Probate Court to serve as Special Fiduciary in challenging probate matters, reflecting the confidence the court places in his judgment and professionalism.

Before founding Weston Law, Trevor served as a partner at several respected Michigan law firms, including SK Detroit Law Partners (formerly Seyburn Kahn), Foster Swift Collins & Smith, and Fedor, Camargo & Weston. Throughout his career, he has concentrated on estate planning, probate administration, business succession planning, and litigation.

Trevor has been recognized throughout his career for excellence in the legal profession. He has been selected as a Michigan Super Lawyer and was previously recognized as a Michigan Rising Star for multiple consecutive years by Super Lawyers. He was also named one of Michigan’s Up and Coming Lawyers by Michigan Lawyers Weekly.

Beyond representing clients, Trevor is an active leader in Michigan’s legal community. He serves as an elected member of the State Bar of Michigan’s Representative Assembly and is a longtime member of the Probate and Estate Planning Section’s Amicus Committee, where he helps evaluate appellate issues affecting Michigan trust and estate law. He frequently lectures attorneys on probate administration, estate planning, fiduciary responsibilities, probate litigation, and ethics through continuing legal education programs.

Trevor earned his Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law after graduating cum laude from Hope College with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Economics. Before practicing law, he taught government, history, and economics, an experience that continues to influence his ability to explain complex legal issues in clear, understandable terms.

Clients appreciate Trevor’s combination of technical legal knowledge, courtroom experience, and practical, compassionate counsel. Whether helping a family prepare for the future, administering an estate after the loss of a loved one, or resolving a contested probate matter, Trevor is committed to providing thoughtful guidance, responsive communication, and effective advocacy every step of the way.
